Parents Nite at Climax
During the Norman County East football game in Gary Minnesota, 57 yards of FIELD GOAL were kicked by Fabian! WOW It was October 10th, 2003 and although Fisher/Climax lost 3 to 33, there was a different kind of excitement on the Fisher/Climax side of the field!
Climax/Fisher kicker
boots record 57-yard field goal From Staff Reports Published October 15, 2003 The Star Tribune, Minneapolis Minnesota The Norman County East defenders were yelling, "Fake, fake," when Climax/Fisher senior Fabian Kleinschumacher lined up for a 57-yard field goal attempt late in the first half of their football game last Friday. It wasn't. Instead Kleinschumacher, a foreign exchange student from Frankfurt, Germany, broke the state record for the longest field goal. The record had been 54 yards, set by Forest Lake's Mike Chalberg in 1990 and tied by Centennial's Ken Johnson in 1995. "The kick was straight down the middle and cleared [the crossbar] by 3, 4 yards," said Darrin Byklum, Climax/Fisher's coach. |
